Robert Lewandowski will not go to the Polish national team due to injury. According to Diario Sport, the Barça striker was injured in yesterday`s away match with Real Sociedad (0:1).
Already on the plane, the player had severe back pain, and the Blaugrana medical team examined him, recommending him to rest for 10 days. Barcelona informed the Polish Football Federation of this and both sides considered it appropriate to recall the player so that he could rest and recover calmly. Thus, he will miss Poland`s matches with Portugal and Scotland in the Nations League.
Lewandowski will undergo treatment and work out in the gym.
If all goes to plan, the player should be ready for the La Liga match against Celta Vigo after the international break. Despite this, it is quite possible that Hansi Flick will give him additional rest. The Pole, being in good physical shape, played in almost all matches this season.
