Gary Bettman called Boston an outstanding club. The first American club in NHL history beat Montreal 6-3 in the Game of the Century.  
I thought the pregame ceremony was amazing. When you think about all the events held in honor of previous captains, players and fans, it is obvious how deeply connected this team is to the community.
It`s been a great year and the club itself is an outstanding franchise.  One hundred years of history. The first NHL team based in the USA. And for about half of that time the club has been under the same owners.
Everything that happened on our site is recognition of the merits of both the organization and the amazing fans. Boston has great sports fans, but honestly, the hockey fans on our site are the best. This is just an incredible hockey community, ” said NHL commissioner Gary Bettman.
