Aitana Bonmati has been named FIFA Women`s Footballer of the Year. Barcelona midfielder Bonmati received The Best award. In October, Aitana won the Ballon d`Or for the second season in a row, the Spaniard made a quadruple with the Blaugrana.
Also nominated for The Best were Caroline Hansen, Salma Paralluelo, Ona Batlle, Keira Walsh (all Barcelona), Barbra Banda (Orlando Pride, Zambia), Khadija Shaw, Lauren Hemp (both Manchester City), Lindsey Horan, TabithaChavinga (both Lyon), Lucy Bronze (Chelsea), Mariona Caldentey (Arsenal), Naomi Girma(San Diego), Sophia Smith (Portland Thorns), Mallory Swanson (Chicago Red Stars) and Trinity Rodman (Washington Spirit).
Emma Hayes (Chelsea / USA) received the Women`s Football Coach of the Year award.
Brazilian footballer Marta became the first winner of a new prize named after her (FIFA Marta Award) - for the most beautiful goal in women`s football.
Alyssa Neher from Team USA and Chicago Red Stars was named the best goalkeeper.
