15.04.2025 Christian Horner: We demanded too much from Lawson in the Red Bull

Horner explained the decision to convert Lawson into the rating of Bulls. The leader Red Bull said that in this situation, the team had no other choice, given all the factors:
Of course, this is terrible, because with this decision you are depriving a person of his dreams, his aspirations. But sometimes for the good of the good you have to make cruel decisions. And in this case, this is definitely not the end for Liam Lawson.
I myself clearly explained everything to him, and that the decision was really made on the basis of the two past Grand Prix. I think we demanded too much from him, it was too early for this.
We must admit this - we demanded too much from Liam and too early. And in order for him to recover and be able to gradually reveal his talent, we returned him to the rating of Bulls.
We need to do a lot, working on the machine. We need to improve it. And here we must rely on the experience of Yuki Tsunoda. At the same time, Liam Lawson will be able to recover into the rating of Bulls - in the environment familiar to him and in conditions, probably not of such severe pressure as in the red bull.
According to Horner, one of the main factors when making a decision was that both Horner himself and engineers Red Bull saw how psychologically difficult Lawson at the start of the season:
I think, from what we all saw in Australia and China we can conclude that the incident greatly affected Liam. We could leave everything as it is - Liam is a good, talented racer. And in half a season he probably would have coped with everything. But we simply do not have so much time.
And how difficult Liam had to, it was obvious to engineers in the team that too much load lay on his shoulders. The engineers themselves came to me and expressed their fears, so that ultimately what we did was quite logical.
Red Bull took off the newcomer after two races. Is he so terrible? Is the replacement better?
